First founded by the french designer Yves Saint Laurent in 1962 with a beautiful fashion range. It was a couple of years later in 1964, YSL entered the fragrance world with the launch of their first perfume, "Y." The bottle design featured a silhouette that mirrored a woman's head and shoulders, with the letter 'Y' representing the neckline of a dress. Since then, YSL has created a number of iconic perfumes that have had a significant impact on the industry. In 1971, Yves Saint Laurent himself even posed nude in a provocative Ad campaign for the launch of their mens fragrance "Pour Homme". In 2000, they launched the award winning 'Black Opium' which has continued to be a very popular scent even today.
